I had the privilege of working with the Washington Women in Public Relations on their Emerging Leader's Event. Every year, WWPR honors extraordinary young women in the Washington, D.C. area for being active within the communications field and making a significant impact on the industry. The award highlights not only their contributions thus far, but their potential to contribute to the industry for many years to come, making them truly emerging leaders. I made a few simple arrangements for the lounge area and small, modest centerpieces for the high tops. It was a wonderful event and one that I was proud to be a part of.
Laura and Joe's wedding was an absolute blast! Laura had such wonderful ideas and it was so fun to help her bring everything together to create a truly special day. Inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's, her colors were Tiffany blue, black and white. We added in little Hepburn-esque elements here in there, from her bridesmaid dress to the Tiffany box cake. The day started with the ceremony being held in the gardens of the Tudor Place in Georgetown. It was absolutely gorgeous day and we couldn't have asked for better weather. The ceremony was beautiful and all of out design elements complimented the gardens so nicely. We then moved in to the Administration Building for some cocktails and socializing. Next, Laura and Joe loaded their guests in to limousines and sent them on a scavenger hunt through the city. They wanted their friends and family to get to know the city they loved, so they were sent to look for things like Guests traveled by limo, hoping to find things like the site of a movie, a statue of a Civil War leader and a picture with the president. Lastly, they all met back up at Old Ebbitt Grill for dinner and dessert. The reception was in the cabinet room and was decorated beautifully, continuing the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. It was such an enjoyable event and Laura and Joe had such a wonderful time celebrating their marriage in the city they love.
